When Muslims think of dietary guidelines, the word Halal is often the first to come to mind. However, the Quran repeatedly couples Halal with another vital concept: Tayyib (wholesome, pure, good).
Understanding Halal and Tayyib
In Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah commands: "O mankind, eat from whatever is on earth [that is] lawful (Halal) and good (Tayyib)..." (2:168).
- Halal ensures the substance is permitted.
- Tayyib addresses the quality, nutrition, safety, and ethical sourcing of the food.
Wholesome Snacking with Cashew Nuts
Processed foods filled with artificial chemicals do not represent the spirit of Tayyib. Instead, natural, unprocessed snacks like Cashew Nuts are the perfect example of pure sustenance. Rich in monounsaturated fats, iron, and plant-based protein, they fuel the body cleanly, allowing you to maintain energy for acts of worship.
