Objective
This study compares the pain-relief and safety profiles of standardized turmeric extract (containing 95% curcuminoids) against Diclofenac Sodium (a standard NSAID) in patients with knee osteoarthritis.
Methodology
139 patients were randomly assigned to receive either 500mg of turmeric extract three times daily or 50m of Diclofenac Sodium twice daily for 28 days.
Clinical Outcomes
- Pain Reduction: Both groups showed similar improvements in pain scores.
- Safety Profile: The Diclofenac group reported significantly more stomach irritation, whereas the turmeric group experienced minimal side effects.
Standardized organic formulations like Karkuma Joint Guard and Karkuma Bio Comfort provide natural, stomach-friendly relief for chronic joint discomfort.
